Job Summary
As an EHS Specialist you will be responsible for implementing the Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) program at the facility level. This position serves as a member of the site leadership team & requires a strong cross-functional partnership with operations & human resources. This position requires knowledge of all applicable EHS regulations, safe work practices, & environmental recordkeeping. The incumbent must have good communication, training, & leadership skills with the ability to interact successfully with all levels of the organization.
Some Of What You Will Do
- Coordinate with site team to implement the EHS Program & respective policies
- Audit effectiveness of the site EHS program through the audit program, including the annual corporate audit
- Provide EHS training to all site personnel
- Maintain all pertinent safety & environmental records
- Maintain workers' compensation files & investigate incidents
- Generate internal & external reports as required
- Execute site inspection program with respect to safety & environmental regulations
- Accompany state, federal, & local inspectors from various agencies. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, & regulatory agencies
- Act as local expert on EHS requirements, providing guidance & working closely with site leadership team
- Perform other duties as assigned. May be required to support multiple facilities as well as corporate/nationwide EHS projects
