The basic function of this position is to provide advocacy services to adult victims & survivors of sexual assault.
Including but not limited to:
-Providing education & information
-Providing on-site services to victims receiving emergency medical care
-Providing continued support to all adult victims of sexual assault through crisis counseling & further referral to therapy as needed
-Providing individualized services such as weekly support groups, case management, court accompaniment, accompaniment to law enforcement & district attorney interviews, individualized support services & relocation services when necessary
-Maintain good rapport & working relationships with members of hospital ER staff, local law enforcement, & court staff
Responsibilities:
-Provide advocacy & accompaniment to victims, not limited to basic funtions of the position listed above
-Coordinate/Facilitate outreach activities within the community, e.g. schools, businesses, community agencies, churches
-Answer crisis line
-Assist with production of printed material
-Assist with & attend fund raising/awareness events as directed
-Set up off-site crisis counseling & support group
-Collaborate & develop relationships through multiple community partnership
